The Kathi cup is modelled after the Japanese 'yunomi' cup, an everyday vessel for drinking tea. 

The cups are wood fired with an ash-rich glaze that develop uniquely depending on how much heat and oxygen they receive in the kiln. The resultant colours in the glaze vary from a creamy celadon to deep earthy browns making each piece beautiful in its own right.
